| A beautiful day in La Fouly (Switzerland) During a sensor maintenance and data collecting session with some members of the EFLUM Laboratory (EPFL, Switzerland) we were lucky to observe impressives Kelvin-Helmoltz Breaking Wave Clouds over the top of the mountains. This spectacular behavior of the air occurs when there is a velocity shear in a single continuous fluid. In this particular case, the Kelvin-Helmoltz waves were followed by a zone of the mountain that was directly exposed to the sun which explains the diffusion of the clouds on the left of the picture.  |  |
